What Is Going On Here?

Hello.

My name is Tigrisian (my screen name obviously, not my real name) and I'm - what did he call himself on here? Stripes? - I'm Stripes' brother.

Normally I wouldn't be able to get onto his laptop but he's not here at the moment, and he left his laptop without locking it first. He never does that. I think this is serious.

I found this blog and I've read it through. When I read the post 'Slender Man Mythos' I almost laughed. I went to a Halloween party as Slendy, once! I've played Slender: The 8 Pages! But good ol' Slendy is just a myth.
Or so I thought.

You see, Stripes isn't here at the moment. I don't know where he is. He's been missing for three hours. Our parents aren't due back for another six. Let me explain the situation.
I'm twenty, and he's fifteen. Our parents went out to a wedding, and they aren't getting back until late. We were left here alone.
Stripes has an unusual interest in the paranormal - ghosts and the like. It's almost scary, actually. I don't want to know what he's been doing. I just want him back here, and soon.

By the way, when I opened his laptop I found Blogger open and I found this on another tab. Anyone know what it is talking about?

Stripes here. I don't know if you know me, but this is important.
I've learnt a lot in the last three weeks, a scary amount of stuff.
Our fluffy friend has been around. I'm beginning to see him everywhere, just waiting to use the paw of revelation.
My laptop's been unlocked - he's GOOD. Not even I could have unlocked secrets so cleverly, as all my Fear things are stored on this computer.
You're the Hunter, you know about things like this. What do I do?
Are you even still alive?

  1. Look, this is all a joke. I'm sure your brother is fine and hanging out with friends. There's nothing strange going on.

Please, just leave this all alone and don't get involved. It's better for your own sake that you stay away for as long as you can.

    1. He's still not back. It's ten o clock here. I'm worried. I'm sure something is wrong here.

  2. Come now, don't listen to Knight. After all, your brother's life may be on the line! You should go after him and try to get him back home safely. It's what a good brother would do.

    1. Tigrisian, are you really going to listen to a person called the God of Fear?

    1. He's being pursued by a Thoughtborn, so I'd assume he's hiding away in a place he feels safe, as far from any computers as he can possibly get. Can you think of any place like that?

  4. He just walked in the door, and collapsed. I told him I found his blog but for he did not get angry. I think he was too tired for that. All he said was "As you know about this now, go and post on my blog for me. Tell them... Tell them Le Fay is born of thought, but is not just a thoughtborn. Or we underestimated thoughtborns. They don't use computers, they use electrical signals in the computer. There's electrical signals in the brain."
After this, he fell asleep straight away.

  5. That is of course if Stripes hasn't become a Servant. You saw the last post. He may be coming back.

And he may not be your brother anymore.

    1. Beat me to the "coming back" part.

      The last part however...

    2. And people say I'm paranoid. Currently there's no evidence he's been dumb enough to join up with any of them. My main worry is that he's apparently keeping big enough secrets that Lassie is sniffing around.

Confession Stripes, not only is it good for the soul anecdotal evidence suggests that it can sometimes get the Black Dog to back off for a while.

And if that unsent email was addressed to me people should know by now I don't hunt big game, just the servants. I'm not suicidal most days. When an actual Fear shows up you *run like hell* and then if they have a specific target profile (loners and outcasts, those harboring feelings of guilt, those keeping deep dark secrets, etc.) you do your damnedest to get out of the target profile. You avoid forests and abandoned buildings. You avoid bugs and birds. You avoid drinking or swimming in water unless you're absolutely sure it IS water.

    3. Paranoid? All I'm saying is Be Cautious. "Stay Alert", in your own words.

We know Le Fay has taken an interest in Stripes and we know it can infect people's brains.

Seems like a reason to be cautious. If not a reason to be paranoid.

    4. And if that had been the case Stripes hardly would have tipped him off to that possibility.

  6. Look.
You seem to know what is happening.

What has my brother got himself into?
    What is this email about?
What does this message he gave me mean?

  7. Well well, looks like he may have taken our advice after all. That, or our friend Le Fey got bored and decided to take him before his time. Either way, the Manufactured Newborn hasn't made itself an enemy to us, so we won't be providing any assistance in fixing this.

That is, unless he would prefer to serve the Archangel...

  8. Just ANSWER ME!
I'm sorry, but I'm terrified. I'm all alone; Stripes is asleep and there's no telling when he'll wake up.

    2. You're only on the periphery now. Walk away and forget this and you might be able to keep living unaware of the things that go bump in the night. If you'd rather help your brother than continue breathing and being sane, well just about everybody commenting here has a blog you should look into. Just know that you're doing so at your own risk and you will probably attract the same attention as your brother has.

  9. Fear is being afraid. Fear is irrational. But I am afraid.

    1. Fear is not irrational. Fear is completely reasonable, especially in the presence of Fear itself.

    1. A morbid curiosity. Now, what would you feel if you found out he was real?

On that topic, what would you feel if your body was filled with strings, and you were forced to kill the people you love by a puppeteer who would keep you her slave until the end of time?

What about seeing long dead family members standing in front of you, about to gut you with a knife?

Knight. I can't just leave this. My brother was missing for five hours or more, he returns home and apparently he's being stalked by someone calling themselves the Thoughtborn. I can't let it go.

    1. Okay, fine. Clearly, you're not going to give this up until you find out the hard way.

What's after your brother is *a* Thoughtborn (there are more than one) called Le Fay. I'm not entirely sure what it is, but it's speculated that it's an entity that can exist within electrical appliances, mainly computers - or, thanks to information presented by your brother, they're composed of electrical signals.

What we DO know is that they're Servants of a thing called the Manufactured Newborn. Think of it like a gang - you have the Thoughtborns that serve as lackeys and the Newborn is the head honcho, except it's not human even if its appearance suggests otherwise.

What the Newborn or the Black Dog (another supernatural entity) want with your brother, well, that's unclear. Their motivations aren't human. But you can be damn well sure that whatever they want, it's not good. They've killed plenty of people in the past and not many have managed to survive. Those that do are often converted to Thoughtborn or Towerborn, in the Newborn's case.

Now, do yourself a favor and go to this:

Get all of the necessary items in order to survive and get you and your brother out of there.

    2. Right, run away. That solves all of your problems. After all, who doesn't like being poor and on the run until the day they die? It's not like fighting or hell- Even joining my kind would possibly be a better option in every way.

    3. Joining is giving up.

And most who do end up on your side aren't given a choice.

    4. Oh really? What of my dear host Zeke? He willingly joined the Timberwolves and has been rather understanding of myself, and for this I respect him. He came willingly, and is now in good graces with two Fears. He's even partially one himself with me here.

    5. I don't get why anyone would join these monsters..
All they do is kill and torture,"joining" them only means you're being used by them to make things harder for the rest of us.
